| SALSA DANCE CLASSES ACROSS ESSEX
If you do not fancy the gym, but want to be more energetic why not join a dance class for some fun exercise?
Salsa Chillout, experts in teaching salsa across Essex, the UK and abroad, will have you fizzing with excitement if you join one of their classes.
Classes usually begin around 8pm or 8.30pm with an energising class for beginners, intermediate and advanced dancers followed by freestyle salsa dancing till late, giving you plenty of time to get home for some sleep before school, uni or work the morning after.
Many newcomers wonder if they have to go out and buy the latest dance gear to learn salsa but this is definitely not the case as salsa expert Terry Lewis explains, "The most important item is what you wear on your feet, an ordinary pair of leather (or smooth) soled shoes is best, ladies should opt for a closed-toe shoe with a medium heel."
Having taught thousands to salsa in the past he certainly has some other very handy tips. "Layers are best, allowing you to strip off as you heat up and put items back on when you cool down. Anything cool comfortable and casual will do".
Another
popular question is 'Can I come alone?' Terry says
"Partners are not needed because at Salsa Chillout, we
teach using a light-hearted rotation system which allows everyone
to change partner every three or four minutes. This brings
a natural social element to our lessons and injects dynamic
fun because people cannot help but mix. The bonus is by the
end of the class you will have made loads of new friends and
benefited from a fun workout without realising it!"
Salsa
Chillout say that there is no need to book - just turn up
with or without friends. The evening costs from £6.50
and you can pay as you go.
The dance company's website shows you the basics using a free on-line lesson with animated steps and music as well as brush up on the history of salsa.
