Manhattan Mambo
Saturday
20 November
Jason
and Amanda have
been dancing salsa for over
13 years. Their love for
salsa took them to New York
in 1997 where they learned
to dance On2 with New York's
finest. They
bring a wealth of experience
as one of the first On2
teachers in the UK . And
have been instrumental in
developing UK talent.
Both
are trained musicians in
jazz and classical and the
fusion of this
musicality with their passion
for dance has been the underlying
strength of their partnership.
With a deep understanding
of the elements of structure
and improvisation in salsa
they are able to
demonstrate and breakdown
even the most complicated
moves clearly and precisely,
as well as adding that little
bit extra.
Manhattan
Mambo UK, directed and choreographed
by Jason and Amanda was
established in the summer
of 2002 with the encouragement
of friends from New York.
The group is now one of
the longest and most established
salsa/mambo groups in the
UK , and have performed
at many major events.

Mauro
& Eva
Saturday
18 December
Mauro
Casali
Mauro started dancing at
the age of 24 when he arrived
in London from his home
town of Milan. Within 2
years he had featured in
a music video on MTV Asia
and was teaching at some
of the most popular venues
around London.
His
reputation as an inspiring
and entertaining teacher
quickly spread and in 2003
Mauro was asked to teach
and perform with Leon Rose
and Tamambo as part of the
SOS team. It was here that
he met and began dancing
with Eva, 7 years on they
have firmly established
an international reputation
as performers and teachers
of the highest caliber.
Eva
Hurychova
Eva
started dancing ballet and
learning gymnastics in the
Czech Republic at the age
of four. Three years later
she swapped ballet for ballroom
and Latin-American dance
and, as a child, won many
national competitions. While
at university, Eva and her
dance partner reached international
masters level in Latin-American
dance, were classified in
the top twenty couples from
the Czech Republic and successfully
competed in many national
and international competitions.
After
moving to the UK, Eva began
dancing salsa with the Mundo
Latino Team and after a
couple of months was chosen
to perform with the Laith
Sami Diablo Dance Company.
In 2004, she was a finalist
in the Tropicana Salsa Competition
and was a member of the
dance cast in the West End
musical Murderous Instincts'
directed by Puerto Rican
choreographer Jesus Aponte.
